Uber, Cadillac Team Up For 2014 North American International Auto Show

Uber is partnering with Cadillac to give private driver services during the charity, industry and media previews of the 2014 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. People attending the NAIAS will be able to request a driver of either the 2014 Cadillac SRX or the outgoing Escalade and arrive to the Auto Show in a dash of style. Melody Lee, director of branding and reputation strategy for Global Cadillac, says the collaboration allows the Auto Show attendee to see Cadillac products first-hand. Though if we must add, these are also the oldest two vehicles in Cadillac’s lineup, and the new 2015 Escalade blows the old one out of the water.

The rides will be limited to 15 minutes, free of charge mind you, around the Midtown (Wayne State University, Detroit Institute of Arts) Downtown (self explanatory) and Corktown (Slows, Motor City Casino, Green Dot Stables) districts. The availability of each vehicle will be limited as well, and in order to access the service, NAIAS attendees must download the Uber application on their smartphone.

In addition, General Motors and Uber have teamed up to provide special financing on new vehicles for those looking to be Uber drivers.
