Supervettes Unveils SV8.R Conversion Kit For C6 And C7 Corvettes

For years now the Chevrolet Corvette has offered supercar levels of performance in a relatively understated package. Yes, the 2014 Corvette Stingray with its sharp, angular styling is a striking thing to look at but visually, the Corvette never quite gave off the supercar vibe. This is where Jupiter, Fla. based Corvette tuner and parts supplier Supervettes steps in.

Supervettes recently announced they are offering conversion packages, called the SV8.R, which will transform either a C6 or C7 into a more dramatic, modern looking Corvette. It features a completely redesigned carbon fiber body, which has apparently been inspired by older Corvettes, with Kevlar reinforced front and rear bumpers. Supervettes says the conversion adds more than eight-inches in width to a base C6 Corvette.

Additional changes that come with the kit include 20-inch front and 21-inch rear forged wheels wrapped in Pirelli Pzero tires, a new exhaust system, new brakes, new lighting and a coat of paint. Extra options include performance packages, interior and sound system upgrades as well as a fully exposed carbon fiber finish.

Like what you see? Supervettes will turn your C6 into an SV8.R for $60,000 if you manage to lock in one of the two pre-orders left. After that, future orders will start at $65,000 or, as we see it, about the same price as a well-equipped 2014 C7 Corvette.
