Refreshed Chevrolet Beat Spied During Testing

General Motors India is gearing up to launch a refreshed version of the Chevrolet Beat (Spark) in the country later this year. The updated and revised minicar has been spied during testing prior to its official release wearing some camouflage over its new front fascia and rear hatch.

The new Beat is expected to receive a  front fascia and fog lamps similar to the current Chevrolet Spark. The refreshed Beat will also receive a new set of alloy wheels, interior updates, and a new rear hatch spoiler.

Both the 1.2 liter gasoline engine and 1.0 liter diesel engines are expected to remain for the new model year, while there are rumors that Chevrolet could begin to offer the 1.0 liter gasoline engine that is already for sale in the European-spec Spark.

Chevrolet might also debut the Beat with an automatic transmission when the they pull the wraps off the new car at the Delhi Auto Expo next month.

  1. GM needs to make a new 1.2L Turbo I3 with around 135HP and 150FT-LBS to replace the current 1.2L, 1.4t and 1.8L. They should also boost the power of the 1.4t to replace the 2.5L.

As for the Spark, I hope they give the interior a better finish and get rid of those alien headlights. Also, Chevrolet needs to work on making the small-overlap crash test results better.

  3. Headlights that extend from the bumper to almost the A pillar have to be expensive. They don’t do much for me either from a styling perspective.

Hope that they target Fit and the Versa Note in terms of space with 2015 Spark
