Linda Vaughn, the sweetheart of motorsports in the ’60s and ’70s, otherwise known as “Miss Hurst Golden Shifter”, teamed up with car designer Jack “Doc” Watson to build 500 2014Â Linda Vaughn LV-1 Camaros, two of which were auctioned off at Barrett -Jackson over the weekend.
The pair of LV-1 Camaros, one convertible and one coupe, fetched a total of $280,000 at the auction. All the proceeds from the sale will benefit the Dreamakers organization, a non-profit that specializes in automotive related programs, and The International Kids Alliance, an organization that helps to combat illiteracy in children.
A total of 500 LV-1 Camaros will be built, 50 black convertibles, 50 white convertibles, 200 black coupes and 200 white coupes.
