General Motors Flint Assembly Plant will be closed while it undergoes a $328 million overhaul in order to produce the 2015 Chevrolet Sierra Heavy Duty and GMC Sierra HD pickup trucks. GM officials told MLive some employees will help remove and install equipment when they return to work today, Jan. 2, while others will be laid off during the downtime.
GM has not said how many employees will be on temporary layoff. The plant is expected to begin production on the new line of Heavy Duty trucks on Jan. 21.
In addition to the $328 million overhaul currently underway, GM is investing $600 million in the Flint assembly line to install a new paint and body shop and make other improvements.

Do you no if gm build a new dmax 6:6???
Would like to see Allison Transmission produce a “3.42” to improve mileage. Diesel is on the rise again and no one knows where it ends.
I can’t for the redesign of the HD’s to be on the new K2XX platform with either a 5.3 or 6.2 and a 10-Speed transmission! I still like these 2015 HD’s for what they are. . . .
