The Chevrolet Sail is a staple in GM-Shanghai’s vehicle lineup. The car was the company’s third bestselling model in the country in 2012 and after 3 years on the market, is due for a significant refresh.
Spy shots of a heavily camouflaged Sail have surfaced, suggesting that the car will soon undergo a mid-cycle refresh. A revised front fascia with a global Chevrolet design and headlights similar to those found on the Chevrolet Spark can be seen peering through the camouflage. Inside, the dashboard and steering wheel are completely covered up, suggesting a comprehensive interior update with more a more upscale design. Under the hood, Chinese media are speculating that a 1.5L  four-cylinder engine will join the existing 1.2L, 1.3L and 1.4L units currently offered in the Sail.
We’re anticipating the updated Sail to make an official appearance sometime later this year, possibly as early as the Beijing International Auto Show in April.
