Craigslist Find: Custom 2012 CTS-V Sport Wagon

Cadillac only made 1,200 examples of the beastly 556 horsepower CTS-V Sport Wagon, which accounts for about 0.5 percent of all second-generation CTS sales. The exclusivity of these rare wagons might explain the high $71,999 asking price of this 2012 CTS-V wagon Jalopnik found for sale on Craigslist, or it could be the obscenely wide body kit that’s driven the resale price up past the original MSRP.

The CTS-V in question was customized by Canepa Design, a well-known, well-respected restoration and customization shop based out of Scotts Valley, CA. This Opulent Blue grocery getter was customized using the same wide-body kit as the Canepa/Bridgestone CTS-V Coupe the company brought to SEMA in 2011. In addition to the extra-wide body cladding, the V wagon is lowered on a set of HRE performance alloys wrapped in some sticky Michelin rubber.

Canepa says over 380 man hours of professional installation have gone into the CTS-V, as well as over $52,000 invested, bringing the total spent on the car to around $120,000. Suddenly, the $71,999 asking price doesn’t seem so bad, or does it? Let us know in the comments.

  1. Extremely Beautiful Car no doubt…..BUT….This has to be a Scam for real, I looked at the Craigslist site where the car is and there is No Contact Info what so ever on there!!! I don’t know about you but before I spend any kind of money like that I want to be able to contact that person who owns…You Think??? Anybody can throw around a well respected name a put pics up with information………but then you look for a Contact and there is Zero(0) nothing on there, tho it does have a reply button and you click on it, it gives you the standard Craigslist email response which ain’t Good Enough for me…..This is a True Scam…..But please, help on this if you can, but go to Craigslist and check it out!!!

      1. Thanks Sam, really appreciate your response and that does take a bit of the Sting out of the post, but……yea, yea, I know, it’s always a but…..But….don’t you think for argument sake that for a purchase of that magnitude that the company be more Transparent and Contact worthy to make the Purchase go as smoothly as possible for the Prospected Buyer instead of having to go to outside sources just to make sure it’s legit??? Your thoughts please

  2. Some people don’t want endless phone calls and texts about whatever they might be selling, so an email might be easier for some people. So just because the standard Craigslist reply “isn’t good enough” for you doesn’t make something a scam.
What makes your opinion or thoughts better than anyone else’s?

I’m not saying you’re wrong, but I’m sure as hell not saying you’re right.

Be careful with what you say from now on.

    1. Thank you for your Response, but being defensive was not what this was about and what do you mean “What makes your opinion or thoughts better than anyone else’s?”, where did that come from??? Your opinion as like mine does matter period, whether you dig it or not, that was totally unnecessary to say, but your point is well taking about the traffic they may receive, the problem still is that if you actually click on the reply button it’s not their email, and no matter how you get contacted, you’ll still be inundated with (Hopefully) tons of Prospected Buyers so why not use your own to validate the Legitimacy of the Buy……..Now if you read my Opinion peace it clearly stated…..”But please, help on this if you can, but go to Craigslist and check it out!!!”, that was so I can get a Fresh take on my observation, not a Condemnation on my Opinion, but, thanks again SonicBoy for your response and Glad your on GMA! 😉

  3. I’d rather have the Hennesy VR1200 version.

    1. Hennessy is a scam. They rip people off. You can get the same work done for half the price at any other rep. Shop. I just got 750 rwhp (and I have the dyno sheet to prove it) and I paid half the price than what Hennessy would charge. Your paying for the Hennessy name dude.
