Lingenfelter Performance Engineering and Hot Rod Magazine’s David Freiburger were some of the first people to get a fifth-gen Camaro past the heralded 200 mph mark. Just a couple of weeks after taking delivery of the car, LPE managed to hit 202.6 mph in their tuned Camaro ZL1. Then, Texas tuning giant Hennessey soon followed suit, reaching a dizzying 203.9 mph in their ZL1.
We didn’t think we’d see a faster fifth generation Camaro. We were wrong. Very wrong.
Chris Coulter’s 2010 Camaro SS not only does 204.5 mph, but it does 204.5 mph in the standing mile. The LS3 has been graced with a Kenne Belle supercharger, a nitrous system and all the necessary internal components to handle the extra power. Chris also added a methanol injection system for a little extra kick in the pants. All in all, the Camaro is good for 940 horsepower and 960 lb-ft of torque.
Check out the video of Chris’ 200 mph Camaro in the video below. Unfortunately there’s some rock music playing over the sound of that sweet, sweet LS3, but the videos still worth a watch.
