2015 GMC Canyon Set For Detroit Auto Show Debut

After the official unveiling of the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November, many were pondering to themselves (us included) when the Chevy’s sibling, the GMC Canyon, would make its debut. And thankfully, now we know: the 2015 GMC Canyon will be unveiled next month in Detroit.

Big Red’s mid-sized pickup will differentiate itself from the Colorado not only in the way of styling, but also in the way of additional creature comforts as well (note that the Colorado is not offered in LTZ trim). GM has done a good job of keeping details about the Canyon under wraps, but expect more information to emerge as NAIAS 2014 begins to draw ever closer.

  2. Good thing i’m from the Detroit area,I’ll be there the first day it’s open to the public. And i’ll have my Camera set up for as many shots of the new GMC Canyon.I just hope it’s in different colors than black or red.Although i’m really liking the Colorado already,i just can’t wait to see the Canyon in hopefully LTZ trim.

  3. Doubt it will happen, but I’m crossing my fingers for the diesel at launch instead of having to wait a year.

  4. I”chatted” on line with a Chevy rep the other day. found out the Colorado (will)be offered with a six foot bed and a four door cab. that was good to hear. I hope your diesel wish gets granted with the Canyon version. that would be great. I told the rep that there was zero possibility of me purchasing either truck until driving the duromax version. my other wish is for a super dolled-up option package(Denali). I’ve been buying my second choice( at best) the last three truck purchases. the only reason: I really ( REALLY) don’t want a full size truck. I’m hoping for a baby Denali/ High Country option with the duromax. in white. sigh :~)

I have always test drove different full size trucks before choosing to stay with a mid size model. and each time it’s a bummed out feeling settling for the size truck you honestly (know) is the right truck for your driving style and needs. hears to hoping that someone in gm’s ivory tower has felt the need to lux up a mid size truck.

  5. The diesel and high models are great, but let’s hope that they also have a base truck with bucket seats & nice wheels that they can sell in volume at a great price — great for conquest sales, great for CAFE

  6. Any word about a ZQ8 suspension package on either Colorado or Canyon?

  7. I wish GM had really made an effort to skin the three differently. Gone are the days when GM should build identical products and then price by perceived status.
