Tadge Juechter, Chief Engineer of the new 2014 Corvette Stingray has a lot to be proud of. The new car has been winning award after award and now, Juechter has his father’s good graces as well.
As seen in the video below, Juechter’s dad, Mat Juechter, recently took delivery of his Laguna Blue C7 Corvette at the National Corvette Museum. For the past six years, his father has been driving a C6 Corvette. He didn’t originally plan on trading it in for the new model but once he saw it, he just couldn’t resist.
The 80-year-old Juechter Sr. goes over his son’s early fascination with engineering and mechanics, as well as the meaning behind his personalized license plate. According to him, his plate, which reads “MYSNSCR,” allows him the opportunity to proudly tell people that his son is the brains behind the car. The story has apparently gotten him out of a few speeding tickets too.
Congratulations on the car, Mat!

Aside from perhaps a father and son coming 1st and 2nd in a pro race or the father and son both having won 1st in a prestigious race i cant think of any other thing that would be the pinnacle of a father and son moment in the automotive arena. His son is Chief frigen Engineer and the father chooses to get the car his son had EVERYTHING to do with and had a hand in every aspect of it, plus the father acknowledging Tadge with that plate and just…wow…thats just awesome. Only criticism i have is why wasnt the dad the one driving it out of the place? I’m sure there’s a good reason, but still. Wonder if the dad will change his mind once the Z06 comes out and is like, “well, since my son had everything to do with this one too then i think i should get this also, the other car will go to the wife now” or something like that hahahahahahahahahahahahaha.
This is really kool
Good story. Probably hard to tell who is prouder. Father or son.
