Corvette Racing C7.R Caught Testing At Sebring

2014 is set to be a big year for Corvette Racing. After netting its 10th American Le Mans Series Championship in 15 years this past season, the team has big expectations to live up to upon entering the new Tudor United Sports Car Championship.
In addition to the new race series, which is the result of a merger between ALMS and the Rolex Sports Car Series, Corvette Racing gets a brand new machine to race in, the C7.R. And while we eagerly anticipate the 24 hours of Daytona in January where the C7.R will make its official racing debut, the team is testing the Pratt & Miller-managed cars at Sebring International Raceway.
That camouflage we’ve seen time and time again is still around, but the car looks more race-ready than ever before, complete with numbers and red-painted wing mirrors for regulation. All that seems to be missing are the sponsorships and Jake — the Corvette Racing mascot.
Are they still having to cut down the power of these engines in order for the rest of the cars in the series can compete?
What a complete joke of a series, when you ask a car maker to bring their best and then make sure all cars are close in terms of performance!
It’s supposed to be factory racing! If one car has 150 hp more then everybody else and they lap the field over and over again in every race then so be it! It just means those other teams have a lot of homework to do!
If I was getting beat like that I wouldn’t cry I would bust my ass to get my program better!
Well i guess they could make them all run spec engines, that would be fun to watch, right Brian?
No need for inovation!!!
Two n’s, sorry!
What do you mean no innovation? SPEC MOTORS WOULD BE TERRIBLE!
Explain to me why it’s ok to take hp away from a car for this type of racing!
Its kinda the whole point of having classes. By your logic, you would have a laferrari and mini cooper competeing against each other.
The series is still very interesting, and each manufacturer will tell you themselves it is more competitive than ever before, so I have no complaints. Just glad these companies still take the time to provide us this entertainment 🙂
