Business Insider recently teamed up with Kelley Blue Book to find out the bestselling vehicle in each of the 50 states. Predictably, the Ford F-150 was the best seller in most states, save for a few. As for any states preferring a General Motors vehicle, there were but three.
The Chevrolet Silverado was the top-seller in Indiana and Maine, while the GMC Sierra was sales king in Vermont, along with some Toyota peppered in the mix. Meanwhile, an all-new F-Series is around the corner.

I live in maine, silverados sell here because we use trucks for work here in harsh climate on rough roads and don’t have the money to sink into less reliable trucks. It’s not like all of thouse suburban cowboys on the outskirts with brand new Eco boosts and rams
Ford guys can say what ever they want about selling the most trucks, but GM sells more 1/2 trucks then anybody!
What’s the most important truck segment? 1/2 ton!
I am really surprised to see Altima a best selling vehicle in Oklahoma!
When are they going to talk about the 2015 Tahoe…? When can you order one?
I’m with Troy and Brian. I’d like to see that map showing the combined sales of GMC and Chevy. I understand that they are 2 separate companies business-wise, but we all know they’re the same truck. Also, GM seems to be the only company committed to building 1/2 tons the way they should be. Pushrods and leaf springs. Plain and simple.
At the same time I want a ’14 Sierra, I can’t help but feel this is the truck they needed in 2009. Next-gen F-150s are just around the corner, and I hope they don’t look anything like the atlas concept. I know too many people that would buy an F-150 because of the “#1 selling truck” thing, as well as the looks.
