Bloomberg’s TV-Autocar India has named the Chevrolet Enjoy its “Best MPV of the Year” in India. The award recognizes the best in automotive excellence across the industry, with winners being determined annually by international jury panelists and auditors from global consultancy firm KPMG. President and Managing Director of General Motors India received the award at a ceremony held at Taj Lands End in Mumbai, India on December 20.
The Enjoy has received a significant amount of critical acclaim from automotive industry experts in India, selling 14,500 units since it first went on sale in May 2013. The vehicle is the result of a Chinese joint venture between SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW), and is sold in China as the Wuling Hongguang (Hongguang S).

The Chevrolet Enjoy is one of the success stories of the Chinese joint venture SAIC-GM-Wuling (short: SGMW), the Wuling Hongguang (or Hongguang S).
BTW, GM China and SAIC hold a part of GM India’s capital thru the Hong Kong based “SAIC General Motors Investment Ltd”, another 50:50 joint venture of SAIC and General Motors.
I really like how they used an Impala style grill. Not sure why Chevy is not adapting this look throughout the line in the US. I was very surprised it wasn’t used on the refresh of the Malibu (or the SS, but since SS was a rebadging of the Holden Commodore, I understand why it wasn’t done). The little bit I’ve seen of the spy shots of the next Cruze doesn’t look like they are going to use an Impala influenced grill either.
I know that most of the Asian/Middle Eastern autos would not be available for sale in the states, but that little guy the GM Enjoy I think would be a good seller her. Yes I’m a station wagon guy. Station Wagon owners look past all the stigma of the wagon and really do appreciate the pure usefulness of the vehicle. We own a horse farm and tried the SUV thing, it didn’t work for us. We cold really use a 2013 Astro/Safari. Why? Two reasons, lo-entrances and hauling capability. The Euro-Cruze Wagon would be great as we like the Malibu-Maxx. Our beloved ’05 Maxx made her last feed store run finally succumbing to the last electrical failure that terminated her career with us, she only has 320K miles on her. GM Built a great one there. Now back to the Enjoy, we’d use that one. We look past the pretty paint and look at usefulness. Ford an Nissan are about to bring out new versions of their work mini-vans, and the General is due to bring one some time. We need a less than $20K with just a few options work wagon. Options needed A/C, cruise control, am/fm radio, auto-trans, cloth seats, 2,000 lbs trailer capacity. The basics. We don’t need a dressed up Sunday-Go-To-Meet’in vehicle. As Paul Ryan remarked … Let’s do this. P.S. while we’re wish’in … how about that Mexican Chevy Tornado ! Another real winner !
The car is very nice and good legspace. But sad part is that chevy doesn’t offer 8 seating on the top end models.
