Yesterday, Cadillac began shipments of its electric luxury coupe, the 2014 ELR. The cars will make their way to General Motors’ nationwide network of dealers before its official on sale date next month.
When the ELR hits dealers, it will carry a sticker price of $75, 995 including destination. Buyers will be eligible for a $7,500 federal tax credit in addition to varying state and local tax incentives to push the final price into the $60,000’s.
With the car, customers will receive their own ELR Concierge Representative, which GM says is trained in “white-glove customer care”. Owners can reach their representative, who will provide info on battery care, service scheduling, home charging and more by calling 1-855-INFO-ELR (1-855-463-6357).
The ELR is assembled at GM’s Hamtramck Facility in Hamtramck, Michigan, which also builds the 2014 Chevrolet Volt as well as the Opel Ampera and the Chevrolet Impala and Malibu.
