The 2015 Z06 will debut in a few weeks at the 2014 North American International Auto Show at Cobo Center in Detroit, Michigan. It’s a highly anticipated vehicle for the show, and it’s foolish to think it will suck as a performance car. And historically, the Corvette Z06 has been a low-volume model for the marquee, with performance numbers equaling or eclipsing vehicles twice or even three times its price.
Perhaps the problem is that the Z06 has historically not been priced like a low-volume car, and turns away those that would rather flash their piles of money at a Porsche GT3 just because they can. That said, even the mighty C6 ZR1 Corvette program was denied for production twice before getting the green light on the third try. Yet, with somebody like Mark Reuss running the product department, the cancellation of the Z06 seems like one of the least likely things that could happen under his watch.
