The decision is in and Car and Driver Middle East has named the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado as it’s  coveted Best 4×4 of the Year for 2014. It might not be Motor Trend 2014 Truck of the Year honors, but, the Silverado remains a great truck regardless.
A popular choice in the Middle East, the 2014 Silverado brings to the region an all-new truck. With a new family of work-ready EcoTec3 4.3L V6 and 5.3L V8 and 6.2L V8 engines, class-leading technology, active safety features, cargo management solutions, as well as increased refinement, the 2014 Silverado is sure to be strong in the region.

Who knew? Towel-heads have good taste when it comes to trucks.
Please remove this comment asap! Do you realize how offensive that is?
They ever heard of the Raptor?
If I didn’t know better I would say they didn’t have Ram over there…But admittedly, GM does have a strong presence all over the Middle East. I’m surprised, though, that the Sierra didn’t cop this prize since I understand GMC is bigger when it comes to trucks. Yet more mystery to the madness…I still hate both of them so it doesn’t really matter.
First, there is no need to be disrespectful to the people of the Middle East, most of whom do not wear head-gear of any sort. Secondly, you are dead wrong…this would represent very poor taste in trucks since even American experts agree that the Silverado is an also-ran in present form. For a truck that is brand new it struggles to outdo the competition in any area.
I do agree with you to a certain point. But, the Silverado/Sierra do shine in some categories. One mpg better on the highway is a definitely not. The interiors on the Silverado/Sierra are way better than the competition! The F-150 is getting old and is very plasticky, the Ram is somewhat cheap and doesn’t look up to par (i.e Silverado/Sierra) and the Toyota, it’s a Toyota. . .
You might think this is a bad idea, but how about putting the 3.0L Twin-Turbo V6 (VVT, SIDI, AFM and iVVL) with about 500HP that they are supposedly working on for the ATS-V in the Silverado/Sierra?
I say leave it there so that everybody can see what an imbecile this person really is. After all, proving idiocy is a cornerstone of free-speech and democracy.
Raptor? Yes, Yamaha builds great ATVs. I am sure you weren’t talking about the weak framed, flimsy, 10mpg pigs over at the Ford dealership.
Over here in GM world, a 6.2 makes 420 hp AND gets 21 mpgs.
