2014 Corvette Stingray Automatic Runs 12-Second Quarter Mile: Video

Hennessey, tuning specialists and masters of big power build some of the fastest cars around, with the C7 Corvette in line for a serious performance treatment. Hennessey is, after all, the company that announced earlier this year it would offer performance packages on the new C7 Corvette bringing the power figures up to 500, 600, 800, or 1000 horsepower. But just to gauge the capabilities of the factory model, HPE decided to take one to the drag strip, and film it.

Despite this base Corvette being fitted with the 6-speed automatic transmission, it still catapults to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds and completes the quarter mile in 12.23 seconds at 114.88 mph. Impressive stuff for the slush box ‘Vette, but as this car is owned by Henneseey, we expect it to receive a large dollop of power in the near future courtesy of the Texan tuning titan.

  1. Impressive for sure, but last I checked the 2010-2013 Corvette Grand Sport would run mid-12’s at 113-115mph right off the showroom floor also? Don’t get me wrong this new Corvette is a strong performer for sure, but the last gen(2005-13) cars while they had their shortcomings , were very, very fast in their own right.

  2. 4.1 0 to 60 is way to low for this car it runs around 3.8 so something is not on the up and up!

  3. Not that impressed, the manual is much faster, plus if you buy a corvette I don’t see the reason to get it with an automatic whether it’s a 6 speed, 8 speed or 7 speed DCT.

  4. There are so many variables, it could be anything. Track conditions, ambient temp, to much or to little tire spin, intake temp etc…

0-60 times and in many cases 1/4 times are almost like dyno numbers. Good for a reference, but generally useless. All that matters is did you beat the guy next to you.
