More Variants Of New GM SUV Models On The Table

During a media event that gave us a direct impression of the all-new 2015 Chevrolet Suburban, 2015 Tahoe, 2015 GMC Yukon, and 2015 Yukon Denali, we inquired as to what could be next for the new family of GM’s K2XX SUVs.

As it turns out, we may see a more aggressive, off-road-oriented model sometime in their product life-cycles, after asking if GM is considering such a model. If Chevrolet does end up pursuing the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor with a supposed Silverado ZR2, we imagine that a Tahoe or Suburban spin-off wouldn’t be too hard to figure out.

On top of that, GM’s 3/4 ton full-sized SUVs may return with this new family of vehicles, as product developers are not dismissing such a vehicle, either. As for a diesel variant of the new SUVs, we’ll just have to wait and see. Just don’t expect anything too crazy right out of the gate, when the 2015 Suburban, Tahoe, and Yukon family launch early next year.

  9. GM has the Diesel in house, or its half of that house.

They might use the 3.0 liter V6 which is being offered with the Maserati Ghibli and the next Maserati Quattroporte. It comes either from the joint venture of FIAT Powertrain Technologies with GM or from VM Motori, whose capital is owned 50:50 by FIAT and GM.
