Have 28 minutes to spare? If so, the latest episode of Motor Trend’s Wide Open Throttle series features none other than General Motors North America President Mark Reuss. In the video, Reuss shows up in a 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible, which hasn’t launched yet.
gives some of his executive insight on the vehicle, how he feels about manual transmissions versus double-clutch automatics, what’s next for the Corvette, including whether or not there will ever be a DCT Corvette or an all-wheel-drive Corvette. As a bonus, Reuss talks a bit about the Cadillac Elmiraj, and the upcoming 2014 Camaro Z/28, and more. He even hints at a future platform. It’s really worth watching.
I hope they keep pushing Mark out to speak and really become the face and voice of GM.
I would watch this as there is nothing startling but there are some bread crumbs that will need to be watched and followed.
With GM being so quiet this is as much info you will get before any press conference.
I have liked Mark and his work and see him as the one that will really take what was started by Lutz and help transform it into the new company GM will become. Mark is very well equipped to deal with this.
I can not believe he spoke of the GM 80 program in public. That has been so taboo for so long. That car changed a lot of things at GM and so few know of it or much about it.
wonderful interview. thanks GM Authority for posting this. Mark is an incredible leader.
Ford really pissed GM off for them to do this, and I must admit rightfully so, Ford got the best of Chevy to the point we are talking about tracking and touring, instead of red light to red light. But the Z28 is the answer. This 427 is actually in my opinion built to be blown from the factory, im wondering will there be an option for a blower or will there just be another model supercharged. It has titanium rods and pistons! Very soilid bottom end, blowing this motor I wouldnt be surprised if you could get 800hp or more ON THE GROUND. You can do that in some setups of the mustang but engine wouldn’t last, bit this seems to be built specifically for that.
