Submarines and pickup trucks are similar in a few ways: The have to be dead reliable, durable for many years, and are also made of metal. Although there’s a several million (at least) price difference, that doesn’t mean that military-grade build construction can’t make it’s way down to civilian vehicles, right?
In the latest ad, we learn how GMC used certain manufacturing techniques that are shared with submarines, like utilizing rolled steel, to help the 2014 Sierra handle more than its predecessor.
