Which Of These Colors Would You Want To See On The 2014 Chevy SS?

When the 2014 Chevy SS Performance Sedan launches in the United States later this year, it will be available in a total of five colors. By contrast, the VF Commodore SS V-Series — the most direct equivalent of the SS — offers four more colors, for a total of nine.

Needless to say, we’d like to see all of the Commodore’s four colors added to the SS’ palette, but if you could choose just one of the Commodore’s to be added to the SS, which one would it be? Vote in the poll below.

  4. While I’d take one in Red Hot red with black racing stripes, the Fantale Orange with black rims is tempting.

  5. If the car doesn’t come with a color you like why don’t you just have it painted, or is that to easy for most people?

Never understood the love for black rims?

  8. Normally I hate these orange colours and the like, but the SS needs colours that liven it up since its styling is somewhat bland.

    1. There is nothing bland about the car! It’s a you problem! I will be ordering one as soon as the dealer calls me

      1. Whoa, chill man. Note that I did not say it’s ugly, or the most boring car on the road. Just somewhat bland. It could use a bit more flair, that’s all. I do hope they sell well and GM plans for a next gen on the future platform.

  9. I just wish GM would offer more colors on all their cars. I’m tired of white, silver, red, black. We need more oranges and blues!

    1. I strongly agree. More shades of these colors, as well. Make them “Special Factory Order – Only” colors but do have and make more colors available.

Who knows, one of these new(er) GM vehicles might even turn into a future “collectible classic” as a result of the “rare” color and options combinations it came with from the factory.

  11. orange please, i just did some work on a new 394 hemi challenger in there new orange colour, which is non metallic, i have to say a lot nicer orange than the camaro which looks real drab on a cloudy day.

    1. Man, some of the Inferno Orange Metallic (IOM) colored 5th Gen. Camaros look pretty darned awesome even on cloudy days.

I’ve noticed there are “hues” of colors, just as with my Ocean Mist colored Saturn Aura. When the sun hits it in a particular way, it just looks like a brighter mix of greenish-grayish-light blue and the metallic flakes really sparkle. It’s really difficult to explain but I’ve noticed the same with the IOM Camaros. It’s like when someone spills a little water on the orange Cool-Aid mix and there are suddenly all of these different orange derived hues. It’s weird, man…(no, I was not at Woodstock – at least not that I remember 😉

  12. I don’t like either blue on offer for the Commodore, the “Karma” is too cobalt, and the “Perfect” is too turquoise. But they do need a blue for the SS. Like Stryker Blue from the G8

  13. Perfect Blue, Fantale Orange, Dark Cherry/Cranberry Red, Granite Metallic, and Purple Haze! Add a manual 7-speed transmission. Have a HF 2.8L Turbo V6 with 301HP and 295TQ, a NEW HF 3.9L Supercharged V6 with 437HP and 398TQ and the 6.2L Supercharged V8 with 540HP and 475TQ! And bring the dang price down to $37K!! More people would buy it!

    1. Arent the 2.8 (saab) and 3.9 (monte carlo and the like) old engines. The LFX is much better is every regard. And AWD? Puh-lease this is a rwd sport sedan, dont ruin it with that crap and extra heft

      1. The 2.8L Turbo is actually on the Cadillac SRX, The old High Value (HV) 3.9L V6 was on the impala, g6, monte carlo. But a new High Feature (HF) V6 would be awesome (VVT, SIDI, Displacement on Demand). You obviously don’t know your GM very well Mr. Andrew!

  15. Hey hey Chevy, First, congratulations on your 2014 Impala trouncing all competition, receiving top honors in ‘best’ initial QUALITY!! Now, on to the 2014 SS colors. I say if there was 1 great choice of blue instead of 2, then blue would be chosen as favorite. I told you you guys made a better driving car than all the others. I tip my hat again to Chevrolet. Great job!! ~Rex A. Henderson

  16. But Chevrolet have nothing to do with the car nor do they make the car… All they’ve done is say no to the two blue colours offered on the VF Commodore.

  17. Hey Chevrolet, you need a premiere standout BLUE color to seperate you from the rest. One amazing blue was used by Jaguar around 2005 or 2006- Azure Blue. Check it out Chevy because that is an ‘AMAZING BLUE’!! ~RRH
