This week is, to say the least, pretty exciting. By tomorrow afternoon, We’ll be in the cockpit of the 2014 Corvette Stingray. There will be several Corvette designers and engineers at hand to answer questions, so if you have any you would like to ask, write them in the comment section just below.

Take me for a ride
Was the TTV6 from the new CTS Vsport ever considered or tested in the development of Stingray?
Engine and exhaust noise can be masculine and sporty. Tire noise is neither, just an indication cost cutting in the sound insulation department. Has tire noise been addressed in the C7?
If I want a Corvette primarily for touring, which will give me the smoother ride-the base suspension or the Magnetic Ride set to the softest setting?
Manoli- Sweet, I hope you bring your camara guy for some sweet pictures. My question is how is the overall feel when driving, what is 0 to 100 like as the driver over similar cars say the CTSV you just had. Outside of that overall experience whats the car like, maybe what are the dislike and dont say the tail lights (who cares about the taillights)…
1) On the optional pipes, can you set the most aggresive sound in touring mode.
2) What rpm must be reached for maximum sound.
3) Will shipment to top Canadian dealers come after initial US supply met? How soon to get here!
Thanks
Tramp it, and record your facial expressions.
What is the body roll like compared to the C6 in cornering, does it stick like glue or does it slide on by?
How good is the interior compared to the C6’s interior? Lol just kidding
Also how does the new 7 speed clutch feel compared to the other 6 speeds in the C6. Is it just another gear?
Oh and were you impressed lol. 🙂
have they finished the ZO6 / OR ZR1 YET AND WHAT ARE THE STATS?
Do they know how many will be produced in year one?
1. The stingray is the most advanced corvette ever in terms of design, performance and tech, where there any goals or things in terms of design or performance that they would have liked to see go on/in the car?
2. Will the Z06 retain its 7.0 displacement or will it downsize due to the efficient design of gen v?
3. Will the corvette maintain its heritage of front-mid engine layout/v8 or is there possibilities of mid engine/ttv6 or a kers style awd zr1 for instance in efforts to keep up with the industry and help with cafe in the future?
4. With all the new lightweight technologies that gm is investing in (carbon molding and nano steel) what’s the current development status and how much of it will be invested in the corvette?
“3. Will the corvette maintain its heritage of front-mid engine layout/v8 or is there possibilities of mid engine/ttv6 or a kers style awd zr1 for instance in efforts to keep up with the industry and help with cafe in the future?”
It isn’t an AWD platform, so no chance the ZR1 will switch to it. A decent chance Cadillac could get a midsize halo, corvette no, better chance of Pontiac coming back.
Have placed a order last week for 2014 Corvette with Z51 package mainly for the rims live in Los Angeles and will be lucky to drive just the speed limit drive up to Northern California often my question is the Drive and over all Ride that much different from Base I remember my friends 1984 corvettes 1 had a sport suspension 1 was base big difference I had a 93 with the optional ride control ride in that car was good But I was a little younger.
Like to have Your Take on the overall drive and Fill between the too.
Will place an order for Z51 with magnetic suspension and automatic transmission. I like the performance of 7 speed manual but in practicality when stuck in traffic manual transmission is inconvenient. I wish the automatic was upgraded as well similar to what Porsche is offering. I am concerned about a few unknowns as well:
1. What is the ride quality of Z51 in eco mode with magnetic suspension. How does it compare to the base Stingray one.
2. Automatic transmission data. Nothing is available so far. Acceleration? MPG?
Is there a lot of leg room?
How well does it handle?
Is the MPG really as good as they say?
Is there anything cheap in the interior?
How is the build quality?
How good are the seats?
How fast can you take it to 60?
I’ve ordered the new C7 with the Z51 pkg. in the torch red color with all the blacked out features an d looking forward to it’s final arrival. I’m told Se;pt. will be the month by the dealer but other dealers are saying Nov. but been chomping at the bit since they first started talking about the C7 a few years ago. This will be my 5th and last Vette and I feel this will be the
best of them all.
What is the deal with production? We get so much conflicting information.
The plant is open and building sold customer cars but because of the quality hold they don’t publish the TPW? When will the plant open for tours? When will the first customers receive their cars?
What about the Grand Sport? Are they going to make a Grand Sport or is the Z51 package the Grand Sport?
I understand from some of those that have driven the car that the down shift revmatching feature is amazing! Your opinion after driving.
WHEN WILL THE FIRST SHIPMENTS TO DEALERS BE MADE ? WHAT DATE ?
I’ll make that a second to Robert M’s question, when will the first shipments come to the dealers. I know for a fact the dealers who met the qualifications to receive the new C7 have not only sent in their orders for their first allocation but
they have also sent in their second allocation so we just want to know when the dealer arrivals will come as they say the
manufacturing plant is going full speed ahead so what’s up??? Anyone got the answer??? We’d all appreciate one!!!
Last hot rod mag tested it last month and said the dash display was out of focus and the simulated tach needle was jumpy not smooth, thats all they could find wrong , is that right ???
Do you feel like a badass?
Seven speed manual…who needs it – 5th, 6th & 7th are all overdrive! Whats more in normal driving, which most of do, you start out in 1st and then are required to shift to 4th(1:1 gearing) I call it a two speed. Besides when you go into ECO Mode – 4 cylinders are just flopping around and therefore not very smooth running.
What I want to know is what this feeling is like with an automatic in 6th gear with the standard 2.56 real axle ratio…I know it is 2.73 with the Z51 package. (10 qt. dry sump-we don’t need this either…we are all being hyped…!
GM does not want us to know much about cruising in high gear…They just show us burn-outs which are easier to do with narrower tires and harder rubber than the Goodyears that came with the C6’s. (This is from much experience with many C5’s and C6’s). Good luck letting them let you drive an automatic out on the open road!
why aren’t there more Vents on this car?
Push in the middle of the rear fascia and check for any abnormal flex.
I have a hunch that others will check out this part of the C7 just to see if it does move.
Ordered my 2014 Corvette with Z51 package but did not get the magnetic ride control was that a mistake live in Los Angeles my 93 Corvette had something like it had no noticeable change in any mode at all will like your view point 90 % of my driving will be in LA traffic sold on the way it looks looking forward to it coming in not sure on the daily commute will love a honest view point
Thank You..
