Rendered: A Holden VF Commodore Coupe (Monaro, Chevy SS Coupe)

While the (almost) universally-beloved Holden Monaro (aka Pontiac GTO) has come and gone, the idea of a coupe based on the Holden Commodore still torments some of us. And that’s very likely part of the reason why Dsine International, in collaboration with Simon Gow and Peter Huges (from Holden), created this dynamic rendering of a VF Commodore Coupe.
Such a vehicle could very well make for a very desirable Chevy SS Coupe — think a luxurious Camaro. Whether there’s actual market demand for such a vehicle is another question. Enjoy:

More down to earth than the Opel Monza Concept, and nearer to actual production.
If one was to do one of these they would be better off making it a Buick and not another Chevy coupe of similar size and on the same platform. This would be a better GN than anything else.
Keep in mind the Zeta is going away soon so this one is not going to happen.
If you want coupes render them on the Alpha or Omega at least you would be in the ballpark of what if or could happen.
Reminds me of days gone by when Chevy had a Lumina and a Monte Carlo on the same chassis to the point that they both had amazingly similar sheet metal as well. It would be nice to have a Chevy coupe but Buick would be better served by this I tend to think.
If you note the Lumina Coupe was short lived as most buyers went to the Monte.
GM has a most difficult time not duplicating a similar model between three car divsions let alone doing similar cars in the same product line.
Chevy needs a small affordable Turbo 4 RWD coupe long before they have a larger coupe that would sell 5,000 units at best.
I like this car but the market has changed and Chevy already has a slot for a car this size already. Lets compete with Ford and the others and not have models compete in the Chevy line.
Make it more luxury but still performance oriented and make it a Buick to justify the higher cost.
I agree that there is a much bigger market for the small coupe as you described it, and that the big coupe would only sell in small numbers. So, a higher premium would be necessary and a Buick price tag would cover it better. But like you said, not happening on this platform, so not soon if ever.
Nice looking car, though.
Hot Holden, crap Chevy.
FINALLY! Something I’d happily trade my GTO in for. But it will never happen, so back in the garage to modify some other thing or another. Gotta make sure the now “old” GOAT can continue to keep pace with all the younger steel on the road now.
This is what the SS should look like. I like the SS as is but this looks much better.
