Some months ago, GM’s Australian arm Holden assembled what it calls its ‘interior team’, shut off their sense of sight and sound, and made them sit in the back seat of a Cruze SRi-V sedan while Meryl, the lead interior designer, took them around the track. The goal was to have the team focus on how the Cruze felt inside without any distractions. Only it wasn’t Meryl in the driver’s seat, but rather a professional race car driver, which made the trip around the track that much more exhilarating:
Too bad the 1.6 liter turbocharged four-banger, which mades 132 kW (177 hp) isn’t available in the U.S.-market Cruze. If it were, we’d be all over it, as would a bunch of other compact car buyers (we imagine). Here’s to hoping that the next-gen Cruze will bring the 1.6T to North American shores.
