Chevrolet Currently Has No Plans To Sell 2014 Corvette Stingray In China

Remember an earlier story this week about the 2014 Corvette Stingray being mighty expensive for the Chinese market? Well, it turns out we’ve all been duped, as Chevrolet has no plans to sell the new C7 in the Chinese market, at least according to key Chevrolet PR reps.
That said, Car News China has reported that the 2014 Corvette will reveal itself in China for the first time at the Guangzhou Auto Show in November and will go on sale by the first half of 2014. We’ll take the official word, however.

The corvette should be sold in every market no matter what the cost is
They’ll probably show up in some “empty” containers going back to China. 😎
G M almost did away with vette during Chapter 11. Sales have been dropping for years. It is viewed as the plummer’s super car; a more expensive Camaro.
Corvette is not longer a Chevy halo car and fails to fit the brands value image. Toyota would be selling such a car as a Lexus and in here lies the problem that we have become a label oriented market meaning no one in going to spend this much for a Chevy.
Corvette was introduced to a very different America, and even back then contradicted Sloan’s latter.
G M needs to make Corvette an indie marque, and maybe attach it to Caddy in China. Corvette could take on Porche with the proper marketing and line up. Honestly, a lot of Vette technology comes from Caddy anyway.
Sales have fallen dangerously low and I think this is the final Corvette generation regardless. G M knows that they could sell far more minus the heritage (cultural and design) under the Caddy brand which will need a super car soon enough.
I don’t want this but there is a strong business case.
