2014 Opel Insignia And Its Retuned Chassis: Feature Spotlight

Besides being the most aerodynamic car in its class, the 2014 Opel Insignia also features a range of chassis enhancements that result in ever better driving dynamics and ride comfort than before.

Building on the highly-acclaimed chassis, handling characteristics, roadholding, and driving comfort of the original pre-update Insignia, the enhanced Opel flagship makes several improvements to the original commended formula. The 2014 Insignia sports new dampers, so-called rebound springs, and entirely new suspension control arms and carrier housings that were built into the axle architecture to increase driving comfort. What’s more, the diameters of the front and rear anti-roll bars have also been altered.

As expected, the 2014 Insignia continues to use the nearly flawless FlexRide chassis system, which adapts the car’s driving characteristics in real time, networking all driving dynamics systems featuring electronic damper adjustment and speed-dependent power steering. As with the pre-update Insignia, the driver is able to select between three driving modes: Standard for driving comfort, Tour for an even softer and more comfortable drive, and Sport for a more direct and sporty driving experience.

Opel will display the updated Insignia at the 65th Frankfurt International Motor Show (IAA) from September 12 – 22. Can’t wait to drive it? Neither can we!

  1. Like the muscular front end & how the crease makes its way to the back & is prominent. Like the fact it looks similar to previous model very prestigious move which could have a positive affect on future residual values.
