According to sources, both the K2XX 2014/2015 Chevrolet Silverado HD and 2014/2015 GMC Sierra HD pickups will make their debut outside of any major auto show at the end of the summer. But before that happens, engineers will continue to finalize testing of the vehicles, which could hit the market before year’s end.
The latest spy photos, found on Pickuptrucks.com, show the trucks in light camouflage, bearing little difference from what we can currently see from the 2014 Silverado and Sierra 1500 trucks, except for the fact that the HD models are noticeably larger in the photos. But the more alluring intel — such as payload, GCWR, and tow ratings, are all a mystery at this point. However, something tells us we won’t have to wait much longer to find out.
no matter what horse power it get’s thee other two will alway come back with some thing else there is two thing that i think people would like 1 would be to hide the def tank better and 2 to have a solid axle i persaly like the the font end the way it is.every thing else if it get’s an up date like the half ton got then it should be a really great truck
I’m so glad GM has not caved from the pressure put on them from the solid axle gang!
Brian r as much as i would like to agree with you, I think GM should use the solid axle on at list the 3500 HD and up for the 4500/ 5000 Medium duty trucks in case that GM brings them back.
The big question remains what will be under the hood of the gasoline versions! As for medium duty, it was reported here over 2 years ago that there would not be 4500/5500 versions of the Silverado/Sierra, and GM was working on a new dedicated medium duty platform to be built at Flint. Since that time there has been a number of conflicting rumors, some say a Silverado/Sierra medium duty is in the works, some say GM is working on a joint venture with a medium truck manufacturer. However, there is been very little hard evidence that GM is actually interested in returning to the medium duty field. Even with GM’s recent efforts to increase fleet sales, they are giving no indication that they intend to build any truck larger than the current 3500HD. Those of us that use medium duty trucks continue to keep our eyes and ears open for any news or rumors.
Look like the new model is going to be a 2015, as the order guides for 2014 HD’s are out, and they appear to be carry-over. So that put’s the new model intro date at least into January…
