Spied: Is This The Sixth-Generation Chevrolet Camaro?

For some reason or another, the cars from Transformers: 4 are currently being filmed at the General Motors proving grounds in Milford, Michigan, giving a splash of color to a location where most vehicles are cloaked in black and white. And it didn’t take long for spy photographers to notice. Especially a very peculiar yellow Chevrolet, which appears to be a Camaro, but different.

Michael Bay’s website already released images of some of the vehicles that will cameo in the upcoming blockbuster, including Bumblebee, a ’67 resto-mod Camaro. We don’t see that car in any of the spy photos found on Camaro5. Instead, we see a futuristic yellow Chevy that is different from even the 2014 Camaro.

Is this the gen-6, 2015-2016 Camaro? After looking at the side-view and rear-view angle, we don’t think that it is. If anything, it’s a one-off version from the Zeta-based fifth-generation model we have on the road today. Is it providing visual cues as to what we can expect next? Maybe, maybe not. Either way, give us your thoughts.

  1. Why didn’t that front end make it into production on the 2014 model? I love it. I hope this is the next gen Camaro.

  2. I like most of it. The headlights are cool, but the thin grill doesn’t fit. It has a good profile, but the cladding on the sides are awful. If this is the 6th generation, i hope they improove it alittle before production.

  3. It’s just a modified Zeta bodied Camaro. It was built specifically for the Transformers movie. I also like the headlights, but I think that grill gives the face a big bulky SUV look to it…. Not a good thing for a car like the Camaro…. If that grill was as thick as the headlights, then it would look a lot better and more muscular. I mean, it isn’t a bad design, but it’s not all that impressive. The true sixth gen Camaro is sure to impress both in physical appearance and in performance. I can wait patiently for it’s reveal, but I will be jittery and anxious the entire time.

  4. What you are looking at are some hints of the new car. While it will change much more than this. The nose and headlights I believe are hints to something similar that we may see. New smaller LED headlamps will for sure be in the picture and we will see this kind of technology in the new car.

Now don’t get me wrong the nose is not the new 2016 Camaro but it is just an impression of what we could see. remember this is a show car and Hollywood.

The rest of the car I believe is just pure show car.

  5. If this is the next generation Camaro then I would be convinced that the Silverado guys broke into the Camaro design studio and took over control of it. After all, they’re pretty good at tracing over old designs and calling them “new” and “bold”. That aside, I hope that the new Camaro has more styling cues from the Gen 2 machines.

  6. Michael Bay’s official site revealed it as a 2014 Concept Camaro, which could mean that this was probably what the refresh almost looked like? I remember reading that the 6th-gen is going to be smaller and plus the rear end looks exactly like the upcoming 2014 refresh. http://michaelbay.com/2013/07/02/bumblebee-2014-concept-camaro-2/

  7. Interesting front fascia and side profile, looks good as an updated 5th gen model, but it better not be the 6th gen Camaro!

Perhaps this could be the design of the 2014 Bumblebee Edition? A concept designed only for the movie? Or maybe some other special edition model. Either way it looks sweet for what it is.

  8. The grille area needs help and the headlights are cool.

  9. I have been surfing online more than 3 hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours.
It’s pretty worth enough for me. Personally, if all website owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the internet will be a lot more useful than ever before.
