The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is putting a recent General Motors recall under the microscope, claiming that the company didn’t do as much as it possibly should.
According to a report from The Detroit News, the investigation was launched because even after the vehicles were recalled, a fire was still reported. As a part of the recall, a total of 43,000 eAssist vehicles (Chevy Malibu Eco, Buick LaCrosse eAssist, Regal eAssist) were tested, but just 22,000 received a new generator control module. To make matters worse, the fire happened on a vehicle that had its module inspected but not replaced.

Not good GM…..Not good……This is quite discouraging considering how well GM has improved in terms of customer satisfaction and vehicle quality.
Let’s hope for the best.
I have a malibu with e assist and mine was tested, it took 3 hours and passed the test! So I don’t see what’s the problem and where gm has gone wrong here
