In Motor Trend’s 12-minute video testing the 2014 C7 Corvette Stingray, host Carlos Lago had little to complain about. Instead, he took the time to touch on how composed the new Corvette is, as with how sophisticated the performance oriented technology happens to be. There’s even a readout that displays tire temperature, which in turn mandates how the electronic limited slip differential will act, and so on, and so forth. Yet despite all of the modernization — which usually dulls the symbiotic relationship between the car and its driver — the 2014 Corvette, according to Motor Trend, strengthens the connection beyond what the C6 could ever hope to do.

That, ladies and gentlemen, is American ingenuity at its best!
I want one!
Let’s see what haters got on the corvette now. I just can’t wait to see the look on that Jeremy Clarkson prick at what he’ll experience with the new c7
It is a beauty and a beast. I want it badly.
Long live push rods.
This corvette will be a world car . A USA 1
I real working mans world beater sports car, can’t wait to test one
This car have got to be a bargain, when compared to cars such as the 911 Porsche, Audi 2-door sports cars, BMW and Mercedes 2-door coupes.
If my home IP was not banned, I would post sooner. This is a great photo, the amount of suspension travel and body roll made me check a few times if this was a Corvette or Jeep Wrangler. I do not think I would be comfortable pushing this car to its obvious limit.
So according to this test, the car is heavy but comfortable, with decent acceleration but far from neck snapping brutality of C6, especially C6 Z06. 3404 lbs curb weight is right down impressive, considering all advertised light weight technologies that were employed, while the allegedly obsolete C6 weighed 3208 lbs . Seems like C6 is the last Corvette for me. Sorry GM but comfort and highway fuel economy are not enough to convince me I should be buying this car.
If I was forced to shop GM, Cadillac CTSV coupe would be a better choice for me, CTSV has considerably more hp, better seats and when I priced one just for kicks, fully loaded was actually 2k cheaper than C7 used in this test. And yes, I would not be minding paying 1300 in gas guzzler tax .

This is even more revealing test. 185 mph top speed and 4.1 0-60, not to mention the leisurely quarter mile result. This car is actually worse than base C6 LS3 with NPP and Z51. LOL
Boo-dude it’s a box stock C7 not a C7 Z06 or a C7 ZR1. Reserve your judgement until those hot rods come out. Until then compare the new car to the entry level C6. Apples to apples, oranges to oranges.
Here is an idea for you: read interviews with Tadge Juechter and rest of the design team, then you may comprehend the FACT that Juechter made plenty of claims about C7 in its base form being comparable in performance with C6 Z06. Considering the performance of the base C7 is either the same or worse than the current C6, seems like Juechter was lying, especially if it will take a high performance future version to actually live up to those fraudulent claims.
The only area where C7 reigns over C6 is the weight. This car weighs 236 pounds more than C6 base, 100 pounds more than C6 GS (with wider tires and dry sump) and 80 pounds more than ZR1. To its credit, C7 does manage to gain 24 hp (comparing NPP LS3 to C7 NPP) and “only” loses 178 hp to C6 ZR1.
Mr. Juechter, considering the car is 300 pounds HEAVIER than C6 Z06 and 45 hp shy of LS7 motor, how on Earth did you conclude that its performance could be comparable in any way to Z06? This car should consider itself lucky if it can keep up with any version of the C6. LOL
