Corvette Engineering Manager Explains C7 Chassis

Automobile Magazine’s Marc Noordeloos recently conducted an interview with the Corvette Program Engineering Manager Josh Holder.

Over the years, Holder has worked with the Cadillac XLR, the GMT800 full-size pickups, the Pontiac Solstice/Saturn Sky Kappa twins, and the Chevy Camaro. He owns five Corvettes, and chose to give some insight on the C7 Corvette Stingray Chassis. That way, we can out-snob all of the other wannabe ‘Vette know-it-alls.

The story is a few months old, but there’s still plenty of fun facts in the extensive piece, including why GM continues to utilize a rear leaf spring suspension setup, what cars they benchmarked in the C7’s development, and what sort of differences will be found in the European models.

Check out the full interview here, and fill your brain with Corvette Stingray chassis knowledge!

  1. Nice to see stuff from February of this year, this should really weed out the ignorant ones, LOL.

Still waiting for the torsional rigidity test results… Where are they?

This song and dance with leaf springs got old long time ago, no doubt C7R will use leaf springs and AFM, no reason to leave this stuff out like it happened with C6R. Oh and Tadge and Josh, brilliant move with using steel torque tube that weighs almost as much as the frame itself.

Nice to see the person responsible for a couple of big flops like Solstice and XLR, since we already have the guy guilty of Pontiac Aztek on the team as well.

      1. You know, it takes one to know one. Feel free to respond to my questions instead of trolling yourself. I am sure you are very knowledgeable about Corvette.
