The all-new 2014 Chevy Impala, for which Chevy/GM have received nothing short of stellar feedback, offers Crash Imminent Braking — a feature that alerts the driver of any possible threats and even applies the brakes when necessary. Chevy has made a commercial demonstrating the feature:
The GM Authority Take
If only everyone paid attention when driving. Alas, that’s not the case, especially with all of the modern-day distractions, so in some cases, automatic braking can be a life saver.
Also, notice the different grille used by the Impala equipped with Crash Imminent Braking. And just look at that body.

I like GMA’s take on this! Boy that is one ugly grille. I saw a new Impala in my ‘hood finally, dark blue, car looks awesome from every angle. It looks a little narrow though, I wonder if it lacks hip/shoulder room.
Impala has a huge interior im 6’2″ and I feel small inside. Just a superb vehicle!
Or this modern day system may get you killed if you rely on it too much.
There is already confusion with these systems as to what ones brake and what ones precharge the antilock systems like in the Equinox but do not apply the brakes. I have already see the debates just on how the optical system works and knowing how it really works and it does not brake as the this system does.
Also Volvo did a demo a while back to show how their system works. It did not go well when the car crashed in front of the medial.
Much of these things like this and auto parking need to be left to the driver as while they may help in some cases the long term effect is driver that become dependent on them and lesser skilled. God knows we have enough of those already.
I never thought that would happen to me, and also medication, the most technically advanced camera best products for covering grey hair we’ve seen on a tablet. It is advisable best products for covering grey hair to consult a vet.
I have this feature on my 2007 STS-4 but only on cruise. Works very well. And alarms when getting to close when cruise is on or off.
Yes the Cadillac version and this one will work well but the cheaper optical one GM uses is not good with many false alarms and many people who think it will stop you when all it does is precharge the anti locks and flash lights and buzzers. It also has many false alarms.
It was the first thing my wife asked if I could shut it off.
I think these two different systems run the risk of confusing people.
Hell I get people complaining that they bought a Chevy and think Mylink is in it only to find it was not in it when they got home. Auto buyers are not always wise or observant.
Don’t worry Chevys got your back. And now your front.
Excellent! Suddenly the LaCrosse and XTS seem obsolete and overpriced……..
