The all-new 2014 GMC Sierra is setting the new standard for truck interiors, with details that aren’t necessarily visible to the naked eye. Rather, you hear the difference thanks to details like the more aerodynamic outside rearview mirrors, the new door design, triple door seals and sound-absorbing materials, and engine exhaust valving to reduce engine noise.
Bottom line: there’s not a quieter full-size pickup on the market than GMC Sierra. Plus, the K2XX-based truck looks great, to boot.
The GM Authority Take
Good stuff, GMC. The same can be said of the 2014 Chevy Silverado.

I winder how much weight was added…
I don’t know, but definitely worth it!!
The overall weight difference is 200 pounds more than the old model. Which is not very much considering the difference in trucks
Maybe one day they will come to Europe
They are really really quiet. Love mine!!
Are there any figures available for db or sones (the newer standard of measurement)?
I’ve seen both the new Silverado and Sierra in person. The Sierra is the better looking of the two and I really like the bold creases in the fenders/quarter panels.
This Sierra with the body-color painted grill looks really good.
Are these enhancements exclusive to the the Sierra or are they on the Silverado as well?
The silverado also gets the sound deadening improvements
Just need to prove the engine is better and stronger,,,compare to ford and ram…
@Nate the great this new truck is 200lbs lighter than the gmt900 trucks. Thanks to the use of high strength steel and aluminum body pannels
Wow the new GMC looks so good to me. I generally do not like trucks, but this new Sierra is really talking to me! If I were not overseas for the few years I’d be ordering one right now.
Whatever happened to quadrasteer?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quadrasteer
I always cared for the GMC design over the Chevy especially the 2000-2013 models the 2014 Sierra looks better than the Silverado especially the Denali & All Terrain Versions I would rather the GMC but with the Chevrolet price LoL!
I kinda do wish quadrasteer are on these trucks again so that it has the advantage
I bought the all terrain package which happens to be the only way to get the colored bumpers unless buying a Denali. I looked everywhere for black on black. At the time there were 3 available in the US one was in San Diego 80 miles from me. Went down saw it and was blown away. Interior is like being in a caddy. Power is there with 5.6 v8 3.08 ratio. I have always owned trucks this is the best truck I have ever owned. Those all those gadgets on the 8″ screen are gonna get me in accident. I literally end up pulling over to do things on it because I end up finding something new it does every day.
