A $3 billion lawsuit filed by Spyker last August accusing General Motors of unfairly blocking a deal to let a Chinese buyer take over Saab has been dismissed by a Swedish judge, according to The Detroit News.
GM asked U.S. Judge Gershwin Drain to dismiss the suit, saying it had the right to protect its intellectual property, while Spyker argued that the deals didn’t involve GM’s proprietary technology. Judge Drain dismissed the lawsuit yesterday (Monday).
Through the course of the past year, Saab’s assets have since been bought out of bankruptcy by National Electric Vehicle Sweden, which ironically is a Swedish company with Chinese financial backers.
