In case you didn’t know, Katech engines have been the beating hearts of Cadillac Racing and past Corvette Racing cars. Take this 426 cubic-inch V8 pictured above that was used in a C5.R Corvette race car, as it’s an FIA GT-1 spec engine. If it was brand new, it would go for $85,000, but since it’s had its fair share of racing, it’s currently going for $20,100 on eBay at the time of this writing. As it stands, the racing engine is pushing 645 hp without a restrictor, and 635 lb-ft of torque. A cam tune will push the engine to 700 horsepower.
For all the guys out there who modify their Corvettes to look like the race cars, don’t let this engine get away. Make sure it goes to a good home. Make sure it finds its way in the engine bay of your prized Corvette.

I want to put it in my truck.
Maybe it could have helped last weekend!
Don’t let some kid with a rice car end up with this precious engine
