Buick Enclave, Chevy Traverse, GMC Acadia Make 2013 American Made Index Top 10

General Motors’ trio of Lambda platform full-size crossovers — the Buick Enclave, Chevy Traverse and GMC Acadia — have made the 2013 Cars.com American Made Index top 10 list for the third year in a row. It’s a list that consists of mostly Japanese-branded models otherwise, aside from the Ford F-150, which is the most American vehicle of them all. Maybe topping the AMI is why the Ford F-Series constantly tops the sales charts.

Cars.com’s American-Made Index rates vehicles built and bought in the United States. To qualify, the vehicles must have a domestic parts content of at least 75 percent.

  1. I am not a fan of this survey as it is based on volume and NAFTA parts and doesn’t take into consideration white collar jobs;, such as engineering, design, accounting, human resources, ect…

  2. It’s sad to see toyota have more american vehicles then gm (the traverse, Acadia, enclave are really one vehicle). On the bright side gm still has the most cars with over 50% domestic content. My bigger fear is that their next move is to move many of the white collar jobs. I’ve heard seen many mentions of investments in r&d in canada, south korea, australia which with the migration to global platforms means less jobs in usa.

    1. No matter how you twist it, Toyota is not American and never will be. The whole company was founded in Japan and is now selling and making cars in the U.S. GM was founded in America and continues to make cars in North America. Foreign cars make me sick.

  3. Would not have to worry about Toyota if we made quality cars

    1. Which obviously we do! Chevy, GMC, Buick, Cadillac, and even Pontiac are all quality vehicles! Chevrolet just was rewarded the most initial quality awards out of every other brand! and even the title of this page! Duh.. .. ..
