After extensive testing, the Corvette engineering team has determined the final numbers of the 2014 Stingray Z51. As the title reads:
- 0-60 miles per hour in just 3.8 seconds — just .01 behind the outgoing C6 Corvette Z06
- Quarter-mile in 12-seconds flat at 119 mph
- Cornering up to 1.03 G forces without braking loose
- 107 feet stopping distance from 60 mph
The 2014 Corvette performs well enough to lap Virginia International Raceway’s 4.2-mile Grand Course in just 2:51.78. The numbers don’t lie. And with a starting price of $51,995, it’s hard to argue against it. An equivalent Z51 Corvette that lapped VIR would cost $56,590.
If these these are numbers of the Stingray with the Z51 package, just imagine what a C7 Z06 will do… let alone a new ZR1.

Where’s that guy who said the C7 will be slow and a disappointment because it didn’t shed enough weight? Well bud, like I said in that article, it picked up enough new technology and goodness that the lack of overall weight loss doesn’t really matter.
I smashed him with the banhammer.
haha atta be!
These performance figures does not surprise me at all. In fact, with the C7’s additional improvements, this tye of performance was truly expected. However the quarter mile in 11.8 would of done more damage to all its competitors significantly. Not that 12 flat isn’t already scary and impressive.
3.6 seconds??! $52k??? AAHHHHHHH!!
Too bad you haters don’t like the back end – that’s all you’re going to see!
The speed and performance is no suprize as we were told it would much like a Z06.
I still expect the Z06 and ZR1 will make much more use of carbon fiber and we may see a Z06 or special edition that may come in at 3000 pounds. The Vette team has been wanting to make this their goal. I could see a club racer special edition that could do it at some point.
But as it is the base Vette is very impressive and make us want to know what they can do on the upper models to come. What thrills will the L88 bring?
Well I’m glad to see it performance to be stout for at the price of 56,000 you can have performance of a z06 with the z07 package and on the track you could outperform almost every other super car.. I think they did good with this car with just about everything..
AHHHH!!!!!
Are they going to stop producing the 427 after the Camaro Z/28? I was just wondering if they are going to update it like the 6.2L. I hope they do.
Where are the top speed and MPG figures? These numbers should be verified by a third party since 12 flat ET looks very funny, not to mention this pretty embarrassing 119 trap speed.
