As April 2013 sales data continues to roll in, we find that the all-new 2014 Chevrolet Impala is moving particularly quick, with a current pace of sitting just 7 days on the lot before selling, with 10,943 units sold nationwide. The only vehicle that did better was the BMW X3, needing just 4 days, according to Kicking Tires. Sales of the vehicle may be down almost 27 percent year-over-year, but then again this more premium Impala is not meant for wholesale rental fleet purchases, and the vehicle’s launch is still ramping up.
Oppositely, the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu Eco was the slowest vehicle of the month, currently selling at a glacial pace of 229 days.

Sweet
I’m really rooting for the Impala. I saw the first one on the road recently (black 2LT) and it is definitely a head turner. I’m glad that GM has gotten back to their old way of thinking with their full size car: big car roominess, good looks, and upscale features a la the Caprice from GM’s heydays.
I know that the impala is hands down the nicest looking sedan in the segment or any other brand that competes with Chevy. However; given the reputation of the previous generation as a mediocre car made for fleet customers, I’m surprised this thing sold well. I’m not complaining, it’s good to know the general is doing good but still.
This is good to see. It is such an improvement over the last gen. One thought though: Funny how people want to trash the old Impala for a multitude of reasons. But yet when various entities start in on “used car choices” it comes out a hands down winner.
I finally got to see one of these in person a couple of weeks ago, and it is definitely a better looking car in person than in the stock photography. The front end is very distinctive and striking. The rear decklid looks tiny until you open the trunk and it looks like it goes forever. The one I saw was at the Team Chevy Display at the Kansas Speedway, so it wasn’t available for test drives and it didn’t even have the battery connected. But I was impressed nonetheless!
Paul I have to agree with you on the used market the previous Impala is a great buy, and for some of us thats what we want, value 4 the money… However We are all glad to see GM step it up with the Impala… Cameron: The Kansas Speedway is sweet, that whole area is impressive with the Soccer stadium ect… I miss KC… Best City…
This ain’t rocket science, when you make an Impala- an IMPALA, people will buy it. When it looks like a generic Kia/Hyundai (previous generation) people don’t like it. Car looks great, the commercial is great, and in the intro teaser video was great- can someone phone Cadillac?
Where do you think those lake shots were, is that Belle Isle?
cool video, nice car, no comparison to old impala.
