This Dale Earnhardt guy. Maybe you’ve heard of him. Well, when he’s not powering down ovals across the United States in his No .88 Chevrolet SS Cup Car and trading paint with Brad Keselowski, Danica Patrick, Kurt Busch and the like, he has a very special Pontiac G8 to drive around. And it’s disguised as a Holden VE Commodore-based HSV GTS, complete with a supercharged 6.2L V8 under the hood.
To give the modded G8 such a unique design, team owner Rick Hendrick was able to pull some strings, and get the necessary body parts necessary for the transformation, according to Australia’s Drive. Hendrick also supplied the supercharger for the Pontiac G8-turned-HSV.
This week, Holden Special Vehicles is expected to officially reveal the VF-Commodore-based HSV GTS, which will have a supercharged V8 from the factory. Whether or not America will get it in the form of a supercharged Chevy SS is anybody’s guess.

Slight correction, HSV will reveal the Gen F. HSV operates seperately to Holden and is majority owned not by GM or Holden but by Walkinshaw Racing.
It is confirmed, HSV will reveal the Gen F on the 15th (14th in America).
You think he would just import a HSV and convert it to LHD with all the money he makes…
very non discript sleeper, with about 600 hp, no one would know.
Cool. Makes me think the SS should be renamed the Chevy Holden
