Is This Homebrew 2008 Cadillac XLR Excalibur A Beauty, Or A Beast?

As millenials, we always knew that browsing the interwebs can result in some things that one simply can’t unsee. And depending on your taste in homebrew Cadillacs, this modified XLR just may be one of those things that you wish you could, in fact, unsee.

With a stretched wheelbase, homemade (perhaps) whitewalls, and a sincerely reworked front end, someone must have put a lot of time and effort into this one. But if you’re not huge on the looks, there may still be something here to keep you interested: the modded-up XLR still has the 320 horsepower 4.6 liter Northstar V8, while the retractable hardtop convertible components are still fully functional.

If you’re near the Milwaukee area, this Frankencaddy (with 7,750 miles on it) can be had for a considerable $74,998 at Harry Kaufmann Motorcars. So, beauty… or beast?

  1. Reminds me of the Mitsuoka Le Seyde.

    A beauty indeed.

    1. Just noticed, those spare wheels…

They should be real, otherwise I’d have to remove some points.

  2. Very similar to Excalibur at the front, would like to see the rear and side if it’s modified as well.

  3. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but sometime they leave their taste in their mouth.

I at least hope it was wrecked before they started.

  4. For what it is, basically a one-off, I kind of like it. We all have varying tastes which is why the automobile industry is so diverse. +
