Chevy Volt’s Silent Anthem Commercial Is Cute & Full Of Nature: Ad Break
9Sponsored Links
Entitled Volt: Silent Anthem, this new Chevy Volt commercial builds on the Bow Tie Brand’s original Find New Roads anthem, and just might take the title of the sweetest, most adorable spot we’ve seen so far this year. At the least, it has all the right elements to qualify, including:
- Beautiful scenery
- The quintessential family
- An adorabile deer
- “Perfect world” ad scenario (thanks to Paul)
But we’re still trying to figure out the story behind the electromechanical dog, which is charming, but a bit odd (at least to yours truly); perhaps it’s meant to establish a certain similarity with the Volt — which is part electric, part gas-powered. As you watch, pay particular attention to the girl’s iPad app — which shows the oil rig as the grand ancestor to wind power mills (well-played Chevy!):
- Sweepstakes Of The Month: Win a Corvette Z06 and 2024 Silverado. Details here.
Could I possibly add another item to your list of checked off items? It would be the “in a perfect world” scenario of the ad. This is the part that I find endearing about it. Really good ad.
Paul — you’re absolutely correct. That’s the one item I couldn’t put into words. Added 🙂
I do not think many would be influenced by this add.
It does not give out the most misunderstood concept with the Volt. Its EV and gasoline range. GM has consistently done a poor job of conveying this information. Why not put that in bold face print covering the whole screen? Don’t hide it in the fine print…
This is what should display across the whole screen in giant letters at the end of each Volt commercial…
– EPA 38 MILES ELECTRIC RANGE PER CHARGE
– UNLIMITED GASOLINE MILES
fine print info at the bottom…
“- UNLIMITED GASOLINE MILES”
Even if that was in the fine print, it isn’t true, and the public would tear GM up.
Just keep adding gas and you get unlimited ha ha ha.
Exactly.
Even a Hummer has unlimited gasoline miles…
You can have unlimited EV miles too provided you keep recharging in the exact same way you can have unlimited gasoline miles provided you keep going to a gas station.
Here it is fixed:
– EPA 38 MILES ELECTRIC RANGE PER CHARGE
– UNLIMITED GASOLINE MILES PER REFUELING
See it now?
No need to explain that you have to refuel. After 100 plus years of gasoline cars, people know that.
Less is more…
One of the best ads I have seen….Chevy has it goin on 🙂
