Cadillac Recalling SRX Over Faulty Lug Nuts

General Motors is recalling 19,871 Cadillac SRX crossovers for potentially defective lug nuts. The lugs contain a Teflon coating (and a bluish tint, too), and if and/or when the coating wears out, cracks, or falls off, a creaking, rattling, or grinding noises, and even steering vibrations can surface.

GM will begin notifying SRX owners of the issue on June 3rd, at which point they can visit their dealer and have the potentially faulty lug nuts replaced with a non-defective set. To note, there have been no accidents, injuries, deaths, or lawsuits associated with the lug nuts. For what it’s worth, we didn’t experience any of these issues during our time with the SRX.

  2. When are they going to release the new SRX with rear wheel drive.Or the small cuv with rear wheel drive made in the USA. We have the last SRX 4X4 2008 ; with rear drive set up and are so happy with the SUV. Worked so fine in upstate New York with a lot of snow. Now living in Tucson, AZ. We get 15 MPG in city and 19/21 MPG on the highway.
