Cadillac Racing Sees Victory At COTA

The Pirelli World Challenge Series held its first-ever races at Circuit Of The Americas (COTA) outside of Austin, Texas this weekend, and Cadillac Racing took podium finishes in both races.

At the end of race one, Cadillac’s Johnny O’Connell piloted his No. 3 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe to a first-place finish, with teammate Andy Pilgrim finishing third place, battling back from stalling the No. 8 CTS-V Coupe at the start of the race. Second place went to James Sofronas in the No. 14 Audi R8 LMS.

For the second race, Sofronas recorded the W, though Pilgrim did manage a second-place finish. O’Connell, despite an early lead, fell out of the race just as quickly due to a steering issue.

The weekend’s race will be broadcast June 16 at 5 p.m. (EDT) on NBC Sports Network.
The series next travels to Detroit, Mich. for the Cadillac V-Series Challenge at Belle Isle, May 31-June 2.
