Bumblebee Takes The Form Of A Modified 1967 Chevy Camaro SS In Transformers 4

If anything, Transformers 4 is looking to one-up the Fast and Furious movie franchise with the amount of car porn content. Just yesterday, producer Micheal Bay released photos of a few Autobot avatars that included a Synergy Green 2014 C7 Corvette Stingray, and a $2.4 million Bugatti Grand Sport Vitesse. And today, we get a look at the new form that Bumblebee will take. He’s still going to be a Camaro, just not a fifth-generation one.

Instead, Bumblebee will assume the form of a highly modified 1967 Camaro SS, which is in no way a downgrade from the more polished machine he utilized in the first three installments. We like.

  1. I wondered how they were going to handle this as they are filming this summer in MI and it would be way too early to have the new Camaro shown and way too late by the movie release to promote the 5th gen.

This one will fill in for the present needs.

  2. They probably didn’t show the new 2014 refresh because it is too controversially ugly!

  3. I think it’s a huge downgrade as those flared fenders and the chin spoiler look like garbage. I’m surprised GM didn’t raise a fuss. The little bit I’ve seen of the 2014 Transformer’s Vette looks awful, too.

    1. Yes the chin spoiler(air dam?) and fender flares look awful. But the color, now that I like.

  4. I was honestly expecting the 2014 Camaro Z/28 or 2014 Camaro SS. The main character’s family in the film is big into racing which made me think of the Z/28 as a candidate of Bumblebee’s updated form.

    1. It sort of looks like expensive primer, but it is pretty bad-ass.

  5. Not a fan of Fast and the Furious styling but I am sure they are working to attract the interest of the youth market. GM needs a lot of help there.

Even though I do not like the styling on these if they help attract younger buyers more power to them.

Just to note though my 12 year old son saw Bumble Bee and said that is stupid. He likes the original yellow one. He got to see it when we had it at work for a few days. He even looked under it and tried to look for the robot under it when he was younger.

I looked under it and saw a GTO. The original movie car was a embodied GTO since the Camaro was no where near production. It was no where as pretty under there.

  6. Why didn’t they use a 1967 Rally Sport Camaro, which also has the headlight covers? I drove one (dark purple with white stripes) and found out later that the covers, which are each operated by a vacuum powered motor, can be opened by hand if the motors or the vacuum lines fail. It had a 327 CI V8 and it could outrace many of the imported sports cars of the 1960’s.

  7. Bumblebee for TF4 looks like an inside out butthole. For crying out loud Bay! Waste of money! Since when is Bumblee Bee black?! WTF.

  8. I liked that they went with a classic 67 SS…but I didn’t like the primer . On the vintage 67 Bumble Bee they look like they custom made for the movie…the mirrors were small the extra metal cable in the front was very weird and the strangest part was in the back of the car when u expect to see the SS symbol they had a Cadillac ornament…thought that was a mistake
