A Walk-Around Of The HSV Gen-F GTS: Video

Holden Special Vehicles pulled the cover off the new Gen-F family of supercars, officially earning the title of the most powerful family of production vehicles in Australia. After all, 576 horsepower courtesy of an LSA V8 is nothing to be trifled with. But that’s not to say everything outside the engine is an afterthought, as the walk-around video just below covers the ins and outs of what the Gen F HSV family brings to the table.

Out front, a stretched open mouth helps suck in all the extra air the 6.2L supercharged V8 engine needs to breathe properly, while the active park assist sensors are cleverly embedded into the design of the lower fascia. The rear fascia is equally zany, with enormous exhaust trumpets, a sophisticated rear spoiler, brilliant tail lamps, and a vibrant LSA badge design.

  1. Hey @Holden4Life, can you translate that gibberish for us? 😉

Those look like Continental 5P tyres, those are some nice pieces of rubber. I have the DW ‘Ultra-high performance’ summer tires on my CTS and have the DWS ‘max performance’ all-seasons on my Mazda6 (best tire I’ve ever used in the rain)… and General (owned by Conti) AltiMax Artic winter tires for my CTS. I can’t say enough good things about Conti tires. Extremely well priced, great performance, good tread wear, and quiet.
The 5P on that car are a lot better than what I’ve owned and I bet they will be phenomenal

Those seats look pretty amazing too, would be nice to see those as an option in the Camaro SS/1LE and standard on the ZL1

And lastly, that “brand new HSV superflow rear spoiler” looks unreal, really makes the rear end look good

It would have been nice to see hood scoops on both this and the Chevy SS similar to the G8 GXP hood. But maybe we’ll see an RS appearance pack for the SS sedan that bring more aggressive features to the car.

  2. sounds like every gm option in one car, this would be a hoot to drive, will there be a supercharged impala SS ???, hope so.

    1. Robert — the 2014 Impala isn’t made for performance driving, and would be an inferior performance experience given its FWD-based Epsilon II roots. In fact, a performance-focused Impala would need AWD and GM’s new boosted 3.6 LF3 engine… unfortunately, GM elected to not equip the Impala with AWD, even though platform-mates LaCrosse and XTS have it.

Ultimately, a hotted-up Impala can be done… but the SS is Chevy’s full-size performance sedan entry for now, and I wouldn’t hold my breath for a hotted-up Impala at this pont.

    1. Haha I’ll remember that. My friend is dating a Tasmanian and he came with her when she came home last Christmas. Not only was his accent hysterical but he went above and beyond that call while representing his nation slugging beers lol

      1. Tasmania lol. We make fun of Tassy as much as we make fun of NZ or as much as the US makes fun of Canada. It’s not even part of the mainland lol
