Video: Hennessey Camaro ZL1 And Motor Trend Take To The Texas Mile

Hennessey Performance does wonders with GM Small Block V8 engines, and some our favorite examples are what they do with a Chevy Camaro ZL1. Though to properly show off the power, they brought John Hennessey’s own modified ZL1 to the Texas Mile competition, home of insane speed records. This latest Camaro was featured on the show J-Turn, with host Jessi Lang.

Lang wasn’t piloting an ordinary ZL1, as Hennesey’s own monster produces 750 hp and 616 lb-ft of torque. As a refresher, the standard ZL1 makes 580 hp and 556 lb-ft in factory form.

Before the run, John Hennessey stated that Jessi would be able to hit 180 miles per hour in the super ZL1. We don’t want to spoil the video, so take a look below, and see what Hennessey has come up with.
