  1. Anyone know if the change from “Victory Red” to “Red Hot” is just a name change for the same color? Victory Red has been around a long time on many Chevrolet models.

  2. From what Settlemire said, it is not.
GM’s red has ALWAYS been a bit orange-y; and according to Scott, Red Hot eliminates that orange-y-ness. It’s more of a true red.

  3. Saw this at NYAS. 2014 Camaro is “insanely great”.

  4. Actually, after looking at the orangey-red SS photo at the top, I can’t see why anyone would think of the Camaro’s refresh as something bad.

  5. About time they ditched the “steelies” on the LS. Actually if they just made a reasonable upgrade ($500) available to a painted aluminum that would have been enough. As is the only optional factory wheel for ls is are the LPO 21s starting at $4,680, an option I can’t imagine they ever sold on an LS.

    1. I rather enjoy the steelies, because they make great wheels for the older cars @ cheap prices. That’s what the truck in my avatar is wearing. 😀

  6. So the ZL1 changes in only color choice…..everything else is the same.
It’s interesting what they did with the rear spoilers so are they part of the trunk stamped into shape? Or are they bolt on..so owners can change them
I’m curious to see what the V6 front end will look like..

  8. Great-looking car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love the red 🙂

  9. The Camaro at the top of this article is Red Rock Metallic.
We haven’t seen the Red Hot color yet.

    Red Hot replaces Victory Red.
    Red Rock Metallic is new.

  10. The smaller grille opening is welcome, I thought they’d lose the ’69 fake
vent indentations on the rear qtr in front of the rear wheels.

The Camaro design is getting tired to me. Remember, we saw tons of concept
drawings, then the Concept, and years to actual production reveal. Even by
it’s sales debut I was getting a bit tired of it’s retro look. Now that they’ve been
on the road this long – a total redo is surely in order. Ford has finally come to
the point where the next gen Mustang looks to ditch the retro look for a fresh
design. They milked it for far too long – and I think this Camaro is a yawn in
the refresh world – and am excited to see what GM has in the next restyle –
hope it’s not the 130r which was a total mishmash to my eye.

Imagine a lower sleeker Volt with true performance capability…. Camaro needs
electric boost for performance – lighter materials and a fresh look slanted more
towards the Tru 140s concept but with a more Impala-esque front treatment.

  12. The black steelies are EXCELLENT and are special in that they are relatively unique. It is unfortunate to see them go. It’s the trim rings that spoiled the styling of those wheels. I receive so many complements on them. Thankfully they snap on and off easily. When I took mine to a Chevy dealer for some routine maintenance, the service folks checking me in “oohed” over them and asked where I got them – which was funny.

It would seem steelies are cheaper than aluminum wheels – they are certainly cheaper to repair/replace if they get damaged.

And while low profile tires are all the rage, the 18″ wheels leave lots of rubber to soften the ride and take on potholes – which is a plus for people like me who use an LS primarily as a commuter.

  13. If they would have done the interior I might have been interested, the changing the rear lighting is a big yawn. Shame on GM calling this an updated model. I see the old guard is still running things.

  14. 2014 Camaro: 1) why not offer all season tires with the RS package; and 2) make the spoiler available on non SS or RS models.
