Pfadt Race Engineering Cadillac ATS 2.0T Runs 162.5 MPH At Texas Mile

Pfadt Race Engineering is laying claim to the fastest Cadillac ATS with a four cylinder at the moment, after impressively running a trap speed of 162.5 miles per hour during the Texas Mile that recently concluded.

To put it in perspective, the ATS 2.0T was seventh in the overall four-cylinder category, behind a pair of Subarus, two Mitsubishis, a Saab and Plymouth Neon, according to AutoWeek. 162.5 mph was also fast enough to land the spritely ATS in between a stock 556-horsepower 2012 Cadillac CTS-V sedan and a 2007 Mercedes E63 AMG sedan overall.

The Pfadt Race Engineering team say that the ATS features 450 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque, thanks to an upgraded the turbo, intercooler, and exhaust system. The suspension was also modified. It may not officially be an ATS-V, but the performance numbers don’t lie — this car is quick.

    1. No, for they are not the landed gentry.

    2. You can get a Trifecta ECU tune (KPE also offers a similar tune via IPF), which bumps the normal 2.0T from 270hp to 330hp for ~$400. Tune is only active when the car is in Sport Mode.
Add a Volant intake, headers, high flow cats, and exhaust, you could be around 350hp.

The Pfadt ATS, I believe, is a whole new turbo kit with some trick intercooler goodies

      1. That is great. How much does that hp increase translate into torque? 🙂

  3. Subaru`s don`t last…poor deck/head design and blown head gaskets.
I had to unload my 2006 Outback XT Limited due to death-trap suspension characteristics.
It would rock violently side to side at freeway speeds if you hit even a very slightly uneven patch of asphalt !
The suspension was very tall/mushy and had almost no rebound dampening.
It`s a KNOWN issue. Wish I knew before I bought it used.
    Check out the complaints !

I`d rather be in a Caddy any day.

  4. They have landed…..Apparently they are going to offer several variations as well. They will have different turbo stages, and all of the parts will be made available for use with the stock turbo. Here is a blog I stumbled upon

    1. They haven’t really landed. That blog post is basically saying the same thing as this blog post. There still is nothing for sale to the public, yet.
