GM Purchases Remaining Shares in Tychy, Poland Plant From Isuzu

General Motors Co. and Isuzu Motors Polska Sp. Z o.o. (ISPOL) signed an agreement to purchase the remaining 40% shares if tge Tychy, Poland plant from the Japanese automaker. This means that from now on, the plant, which builds Circle L 1.7L diesel engines, will operate as “GM Powertrain Poland”.

GM has owned 60% interest of the engine plant since 2002. The Tychy plant was established in 1996, and first started production in 1999. Since then the plant manufactured over 2.5 million engines. Currently, the plant holds 522 employees, who produce high standards in terms of quality and safety of work.

  1. How many diesel engines does GM make and/or utilize? And, why the hell was one of them not in the last gen Colorado/Canyon instead of that garbage I5 3.7.
    A 2.5L diesel would have been perfect to slot between the 2.9 and 5.3

    2. Im confused just as others with your reference to “here”.. do you mean there, as in the engine plant? If that’s the case they don’t make cars there because it is a powertrain facility
