GM Powertrain Facility Evacuated Due To Worker Threatening To Shoot Himself

The General Motors Powertrain facility in Romulus, Michigan was evacuated for a brief time on Friday, April 12 after a worker threatened to shoot himself on the premises around 6 a.m. that morning. 575 employees evacuated the facility, though work resumed not long after the incident at 7:15 a.m.

Surely, work wouldn’t have resumed so quickly if the situation was as serious as it seemed. But when authorities arrived on the scene and took the man into custody, they discovered he was carrying nothing more than a starter pistol, which only shoots blanks. Yup.

Former staff.
